Orbital Snake Press, Awards & Reviews
Steve Cook, Slumlord27's Channel (Under The Radar) (here, v2.3.0)Orbital Snake is based on Snake and Nibbles and since Nibbles is considered a Snake variant, we may as well just call this a stylish little riff on Snake also. There is actually a detailed plot behind the fact that you are controlling a robotic snake in space, although I wonder whether it was worth the time and effort to come up with for a game that is actually pretty small. Regardless, the game is fun - you collect pieces of debris, your tail grows and you must avoid the walls (and ofcourse your ever-growing tail). Every once in a while you will speed up, making things increasingly difficult. There are various pick-ups that appear from time to time, ranging from money (bonus points) to a gun (which will destroy walls for a very limited period of time). Each time you begin, the playing field is procedurally generated, which is a neat touch.
Software & Games (here, v2.1.4)Orbital Snake is another version of the legendary Snake, where you have to turn the reptile through intricate labyrinths, making sure you don`t touch the walls and lose a life.
In difference to other versions, in Orbital Snake the action starts quickly, as from the start the scenes contain a multitude of bends, and trying to get at the objects that give you bonuses is an authentic challenge.
In case you want to compete to limit, in Orbital Snake you can fight against a friend, battling without stopping to see who can score the highest.
Don`t wait any longer to try it! Orbital Snake can be downloaded for free.
Tom Humphrey, Hand Baked Arcade (v2.1.4)...an awesome take on the Nokia snake game.
